If life were like CSI

Mon Nov 23, 2009, 9:42 PM
I'd ace my forensics paper. It's 1.36 PM, and the exam's only 3-ish hours away.

I don't know if my sudden urge to blog again is a good thing, but it's at least forcing me to write.

I've been remiss in my philosophical musings for too long, and as much as I'd like to pass off the dearth of creative content, or even something vaguely existential as the result of NTU's evil brain sucking aura, there's no other way for me to claw myself out of this intellectual mire except to give it form, substance.

It's definitely something to think about while I'm trying to work my way through all the gruesome photos and details in the Powerpoint slides while slurping my ramen.

Meh.

What time is it over there?

Oh noes! D: Exams! D:

Sun Nov 22, 2009, 7:22 PM
It's 11.18 AM. Monday.

I really should be poring over my law books right now, but I'm hoping my inordinately good luck, photographic memory and all those hours in Teo Yi Ling's classes back in NP will magically kick in and let me scrape by with a pass. Especially since I've got three papers back to back today, tomorrow, and the day after. -_-

Had a weird ass dream last night. The details are hazy, but it involved an elevator, an invasion by super secret ninja assassins with wii-chuks, and a giant mameshiba soft toy. I'll probably make sense of it when I get back from the law paper tonight.

Here's keeping fingers crossed.

Final Year Project

Fri Nov 20, 2009, 7:17 AM
It's 11.08 PM. Friday.

Just wrapped up a studio session with Gordon Ho, a local celebrity blogger and member of 501st Legion Singapore Garrison, a local Star Wars fan club. Great fun, and I'm feeling 110% and top of my game again. It's been awhile since I've felt such a great sense of accomplishment and connection doing what can be loosely termed 'schoolwork', least of all when it's got anything to do with NTU.

It's the first of twelve sessions I'm doing with the 501st Legion Singapore Garrison's members for my graduating project, and here's keeping fingers crossed and hoping everything turns out as swimmingly as today's shoot did. It's turning into an amazing exercise for me, in styling, art direction, and creative execution. The real challenge is how to shoot so many people in Storm Trooper outfits in new and imaginative ways, but we'll see. :x

On a side note, I've got AFA '09 to attend tomorrow. Maybe I'll put on my Victorian get up and trudge around all swanky like, affecting a pommy faux British accent. XD

Background checks

Sat Sep 5, 2009, 11:36 PM
Seem incredibly common these days. It's 3.24 pm, and I'm posting from my cellphone en route to Tampines to pick up some pics.

I received an email yesterday from a complete stranger casing out the background of her latest beau. Seems she met the guy on facebook, and wasn't sure what to make of 'em. Good move, imo.

Now, if only other Internet users were just as careful. It'd really keep the horror stories on WOW, Maple, and those other very many Internet aided relationships from happening. With the internet becoming so incredibly prolific, it's easier for people to get involved in the lives of others through social networking sites, games, and other such platforms.

One thing leads to another thing, and soon, you get cutegirl12345 and integraboi inviting you to a wedding at the Cathedral in Stormwind. Two months later, something happens, there's lots of QQing in trade chat, and drama happens.

Yes. Real life is creeping closer and closer to virtual life, and things that happen online, behind the relative anonymity of the Internet, is not all good.

But enough placing of value judgements. I've got papers to write, essays to vet, and toys to create.

And that's the end of the mandatory once a month update.
